Education policy discourse, which is central to research and action in the domain of education, has transformed its landscape in recent years by eliminating differences and by ensuring access and equity to the marginalised sections of the community, society and nation. Coming after a gap of 34 years, the National Education Policy 2020 holds a firm promise to effectively introduce changes in the critical areas of education.

Professor Suman Sharma, Principal of Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi, has taught in different colleges of University of Delhi for more than three decades. She was nominated for the Indo-Sri Lankan Cultural Exchange Programme by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). She has done various research projects on ‘Climate change’, ‘College-School Collaborations’ and ‘Abandoned aged widows in shelter homes in India’ sponsored by UGC and ICSSR respectively. Prof. Sharma has published many books and articles. She has presented papers in national and international seminars.
Tripti Bassi is Professor in the Department of Elementary Education at Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi. She is the author of A Study of the Sikh Kanya Mahavidyalaya: Education, Religion and Gender Issues (Springer, 2021). She was Convenor of ICSSR-sponsored national seminar and edited its monograph Alternative and Innovative Education: The Way Ahead (2018). With over two decades of teaching and research experience, Prof. Bassi specialises in gender issues in education and sociology of education.
