‘Teacher and Society’ is a comprehensive textbook developed in accordance with the Curriculum Framework of the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) prescribed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Designed for B.Ed., M.Ed., ITEP students, teacher educators and researchers, the book explores the evolving relationship between teachers and society in the context of contemporary educational reforms. It presents the teacher as a facilitator, mentor, leader and agent of social transformation while integrating perspectives from the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and Indian Knowledge Systems. Covering conceptual, professional, ethical and practical dimensions of teaching, the book combines theory with reflective activities and practicum to foster competent, inclusive and socially responsible teachers.
Prof. (Dr.) Noushad Husain is a senior academician, educationist and administrator with over twenty-five years of experience in teaching, research and academic leadership in teacher and higher education. He currently serves as Professor and Principal at MANUU Campus, Bhopal, under Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad. He previously held key positions including Principal, MANUU CTE Asansol; Dean, School of Education and Training; Head, Department of Education and Training and Controller of Examinations at MANUU. His academic interests include ICT and AI in education, digital pedagogy, research methodology, educational measurement and academic integrity, contributing to curriculum reform and quality assurance aligned with NEP 2020.
